I'm with t.o.p. since I've heard a CD of them after a concert in Freiburg (south of Germany) at the legendary Jazz Haus in 1991. I worked there as a stage hand and I've learned a lot about music during these times but the most amazing was Tower of Power (thanks to Günther D. my boss during these fantastic years!). So I bought many CD's of t.o.p., listened them all the times and in 2007 I had the chance to see them live in Stuttgart Jazz Open. It was amazing, the best during one week with great concerts (Steele Dan, Joss Stone, Randy Newman, and some more) and my highest highlight for a long time. Next was in 2007 too. It was a concert in Zurich and they had special guest from Switzerland. The band have been amazing all the concert and suddenly Emilio just told us about a song from t.o.p. he saw a youtube where young girl sings his song 'only so much oil in the ground'! Not possible for him how good she was with that song (she just won a German casting show with it) so he invited her to be with them in Zurich. It was Stefanie Heinzmann! You can see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF9jc4VH9AE . I wish they will make a song with her on their next album! The Great American Soulbook is one their greatest albums ever! Please record the song with Stefanie at the studio! The next and last time I saw them in Stuttgart again in 2009 at the Theaterhaus. Not so good as in Zurich (the swizz audience was as good as the band there!) but I hope to see t.o.p. in 2010 again here in Germany. Boys, your are the best group making funky music!
