Posts: 20 Jul 13 07 8:33 PM	I'm at show # 213. LB is far and away the best lead singer the band has ever had...Lenny Williams included. If you don't agree, catch him on Willing to Learn or Still a Young Man. Vocal range, power and stage sense...LB is the man.

Larry Braggs Bio from the TOP Website I have to agree with you guys. I have been going to live TOP shows since 1981 or so. I have seen a lot of singers appear with Tower of Power. Larry Braggs is an amazing vocalist. I can't remember the exact date of this show, but the first time I saw Larry with TOP was at a club in Allentown, PA, called the Crocodile Rock. I spent some time talking to Emilio before the show and was asking him about the "new" singer. He said let me know what you think after the show. This was probably Larry's 3rd gig with the band, he was brand new, and I don't care how good of a singer you are, singing for TOP isn't an easy gig. Larry handled it very well, and I told Emilio that I thought he was great. Larry's range would enable them to do some songs that were recorded by Lenny Williams. Larry was great that night, and in the following years, continued to come into his own with TOP. His Bio on the website tells a lot more that I can write here, but I would say that Larry is the perfect lead vocalist for Tower of Power. The shows I have seen in the past few years have been the best ever. Philly Brian

Posts: 100 Jul 21 07 12:22 AM	I've got an mp3 CD I made of about 150 ToP tunes from all the LP's (which, yes, I own ) and several live recordings. It pretty much stays in my car on shuffle. When YSAYM comes on, and I've got a couple of different versions on the disc, there's a 50/50 chance I'll just hit skip and let it pick the next song. If I'm in the mood for it, I'll listen. If not, well, .... it's not my favorite chart in the book. I tend to like the funkier more uptempo stuff. Then I saw the video of LB doing it on the Leverkeusen set. Oh. My. God. And I'll say that because it is truly a religious experience. From about the 4:00 mark to the end, a big crusty old guy like me is almost in tears because of the unchecked raw emotion he is pouring into this song. It is truly a performance FOR THE AGES!!! I can't wait for the DVD to show up in my mailbox. To cop a phrase, LB is THE REAL DEAL!!! No one else compares.

We had our high school reunion today in Chicago I missed it do to commitments with my Church here in Miami I love Larry and Miss him Dearly and trust me the guy can sang.

Posts: 21 Dec 12 07 1:49 AM	Remove this ad Hey Brian...I was at Crocodile Rock in Allentown, the scene of one of Larry's first few...if not..the very first show. Yeah...he just wailed that night. Thing is...he got even better. I had a good fortune of talking to him a few times after shows. What a humble guy he is. Larry just seems thrilled to talk to people and tell them how happy he is to be singing with Tower of Power, and thanks for coming to the show.
